Baritone Thomas Oliemans studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Margreet

Honey. He continued his training with Robert Holl and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, among others. Thomas is a versatile singer with an international career. He feels at home not only in the opera, but also in oratorio, song art and light music.

With his wide song repertoire, Thomas is a much sought-after singer. He gives recitals in, among others, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Tonhalle in Zurich and in Japan and Hong Kong. Thomas made his debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2005 and has sung at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Teatro Real in Madrid, Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Staatsoper Berlin. In 2013 he won the Prix d'Amis for his role of Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. In that role he made a splash at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2023. Much praised by critics and audiences are his solo recitals of Schubert's Winterreise, in which he accompanies himself on the piano.

In 2019, Thomas was responsible for the programming of the 23rd edition of

the Delft Chamber Music Festival.
