Soprano and classical music theater maker Nienke Nasserian Nillesen started playing the clarinet at the age of eight. At the age of fifteen she also decided to take singing lessons, initially mainly jazz and musical repertoire. She completed various preliminary training courses in Amsterdam, Maastricht and Tilburg. At eighteen she opted for classical repertoire. Nienke studied Classical Solo Singing for six months at the Conservatory in Maastricht, and then completed her studies at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg. There she graduated cum laude from the Master of Music Music Theater Classical in 2018. She also obtained her Bachelor's degree here in 2016.

Nienke played in various productions at Silbersee, Opera Zuid and the Opera Forward Festival, among others. She has created three autobiographical classical music theater performances and is now performing her third performance, MTOTO, which forms a triptych with her previous works MASAI and MZUNGU. In this performance, storytelling, classical singing and electro-acoustic music alternate to form a mantra about loss.
