Tenor Denzil Delaere graduated from the Royal Conservatory in Ghent in 2013, where he studied singing with Marcos Pujol and Gidon, among others. He continued his training at the International Opera Academy (IOA) in Ghent with Guy Joosten, but at the same time was associated with the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. After graduating he was accepted into the solo ensemble of the Lucerne Opera where he appeared in Die Zauberflöte (Tamino), Rigoletto (Borsa) and in the tenor solo parts in Prometeo (Luigi Nono) and in the Vespro della beata Virgine (Claudio Monteverdi). He subsequently signed with Opera Vlaanderen, where in the 2017/18 season he performed, among others, as Schwertrichter (Das Wunder der Heliane, Korngold), Carlos (Le Duc d'Albe).

This season, Denzil makes his debut as Antinoos in Hadrian, the opera by Rufus Wainwright, together with the Brussels Philharmonic. He also goes on tour with Mozart's Requiem with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra and plays the role of Alfredo in La Traviata in the Alden Biesen Summer Opera.
