Soprano Lenneke Ruiten studied singing with Maria Rondèl and Meinard Kraak at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and at the Bavarian Theater Academy in Munich. She also completed training as a flutist. She was a multiple prize winner at the International Vocal Competition in 's-Hertogenbosch in 2002, after which she quickly made her international career. John Eliot Gardiner took her as a soloist on various tours with his English Baroque Soloists and Monteverdi Choir.

She was also engaged for the concert and oratorio repertoire by the Akademie für Alte Musik, the Vienna Philharmonic and Symphoniker, the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra and the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra. Her other great passion is song.

Lenneke sang in opera at the Theater an der Wien, the Staatstheater Stuttgart, the Scala in Milan, De Munt in Brussels and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris and at the Salzburg Festival, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and the BBC Proms. Her first major role at the National Opera in Amsterdam was in December 2015 as Konstanze in a production of Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, reprized in the 2016/2017 season.
