Kirila Kraal
Sopraan
Kirila Kraal graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2011. After graduating, she received a generous scholarship from the Staetshuysfonds Amsterdam to continue her private studies with Margreet Honig. She continued her work and studies from 2012 to 2014 in Weimar, Germany. And took lessons with soprano Anna Samuil in Berlin for two years. Together with pianist Daan Boertien, she was accepted in the '15/'16 season for the Udo Reinemann International Lied Masterclasses in Brussels conducted by Christianne Stotijn, where they received masterclasses for a year from Anne Sofie von Otter and Julius Drake, among others.
Since graduating, Kirila has been active as a soloist in opera and concert repertoire as well as song. She also frequently performs as a soloist in a chamber music formation with Trio 258, Camerata RCO, Club Classique, Vrienden van de Kamermuziek and with the Aristos Quartet. Since 2021, Kirila has formed the song duo Kraal en Van Poucke with pianist Nicolas van Poucke, and since 2022 also with pianist Lestari Scholtes. Kirila has been singing regularly since 2022 at education workshops of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet Amsterdam.
