Violinist Daniel Rowland has established himself on the international concert stages as a very versatile, charismatic and adventurous musician, with a wide repertoire from Biber to Berio. Born in London, he took his violin lessons in Enschede after his parents moved to Twente. He studied with Jan Repko, Davina van Wely, Herman Krebbers, Viktor Liberman and Igor Oistrakh. He won the Brahms Prize in Baden-Baden and the Oskar Back competition, among others.

In recent years Daniel has performed as a soloist in concerts with, among others, Heinz Holliger, Jaap van Zweden, Francois Xavier Roth, Lawrence Foster and Andrey Boreiko. Daniel has performed several world premieres by contemporary composers such as Isidora Zebeljan, Roxana Panufnik, Peteris Vasks and Elena Firsova.

For twelve years Daniel was primarius of the Brodsky Quartet, with whom he shone at the Prinsengracht Concert in 2017. They performed all over the world and made many recordings. Daniel forms acclaimed duos with pianist Natacha Kudritskaya and with his wife, cellist Maja Bogdanovic. Daniel is a teacher at the Royal College of Music in London and directs his own festival in Twente, the Stift International Music Festival.
