Cold and icy as it can be in the north, the music written by Scandinavian composers is filled with warmth and fire. Fairytale characters, images and colorful fantasy are common threads in the works of Sibelius, Grieg and Nielsen. Their love for traditions, their roots and their appreciation for nature can also be heard.
