When Thomas Oliemans walked across the Markt in Delft in 2018 when the Market Concert was set up in the blazing sun, he thought: "If I can compile the festival as a guest programmer next year, I want a flamenco program with Mala Sangre on this stage." And so it happened.
Thomas and Maria Robles - founder of Mala Sangre - met yesterday in Amsterdam. It was obvious that her formation would bring a blistering summer concert to the Market with a leading role for the flamenco guitar - the successor to the Spanish lute (which played Orfeo).
Festival musicians are also included in the Flamenco program: Thomas and Mala Sangre will perform together.
