The Storioni Trio, founded in 1995, consists of Bart van de Roer (piano), Wouter Vossen (violin) and Marc Vossen (cello). The trio performs works for piano trio, ranging from classical to contemporary, from Haydn to Henze. The trio is a leading expert in the triple concerto repertoire (Beethoven, Casella, Juon, Martinu, Moor, Voříšek). The Storioni Trio is the three-headed artistic director of the "Storioni Festival" in Eindhoven, with which the ensemble pays tribute to its Brabant origins. Top international musicians, up-and-coming talent and the members of the Storioni Trio share the stage here in ever-changing formations. The festival has established itself internationally through special programs, productions and world premieres.
The Storioni Trio has commissioned composers such as Kevin Volans, David Lang, Peter-Jan Wagemans, Nico Muhly and Willem Jeths to write triple concerto, which they also premiered. The trio's rehearsals are as poignant as their concerts and both serve to go beyond the music and tell the story.
The trio has performed on major stages in Europe and several tours have led the trio to India, the Middle East, Australia, Taiwan, Japan and the United States.
