Tenor Peter Gijsbertsen graduated cum laude from the Conservatory of Utrecht. He received the John Christie Award shortly thereafter in Glyndebourne. He was also a triple winner at the International Vocal Competition Den Bosch, including the main prize for Lied. 
Opera roles that Peter has already sung are Alfredo in La Traviata by Verdi (Scottish Opera), Acis in Acis and Galatea by Händel (Opéra de Friborg), Janicek in Diary of one who dissapeared by Janáček
 (Opéra de Lyon, Opéra de Luxembourg) and The Novice in Billy Budd of Britten (Bolshoi Theater, Glyndebourne, Brooklyn Academy of Music).

Among the performed concert and oratorio repertoire include the tenorsolo's in the St. Matthew Passion by Bach (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra) and Kammermusik 1958 by H.W. Henze (NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg). On the agenda are Alfredo in La Traviata from Verdi (Longborough Festival Opera), Tamino in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart (Scottish Opera, Opéra de Friborg). In addition, CD recordings are planned for all Duparc and Clara Schumann songs.
