Natasja Douma received her first piano lessons from her grandmother, the concert pianist Roeli Schijf-Verhoog. Afterwards she studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Jan Boumans and Marcel Baudet and from 1989 with Jan Wijn at the Conservatory in Amsterdam. She completed this study by obtaining the Teaching Musician and Performing Musician degrees. Natasja won the SJMN competition twice. She also won the second prize during the Competition for the European Music Prize in Antwerp.
In 2013, together with violinist Isobel Warmelink, she won the NTR prize at the Davina van Wely violin competition. Natasja studied song accompaniment with Rudolf Jansen and obtained her diploma with distinction in September 2000. She has since successfully performed as a solo pianist, as a accompanist and in chamber music in various countries. In 2013 Natasja published her collection of poems ‘Brandend Vuur’. And in April 2014, her second collection "Water of Time" was published. Natasja is a coach / pianist at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
