Pianist Hannes Minnaar finished his studies with Jan Wijn at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with a 10 and distinction, and then took lessons with Willem Brons, Menahem Pressler and Ferenc Rados, among others. At the same time he studied organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen. As the prize winner of the international competitions in Geneva and Brussels, he managed to attract international attention. In the fall of 2016, Hannes received the Nederlandse Muziek Prijs. The Borletti-Buitoni Trust awarded him one of their prestigious scholarships in 2011.
Hannes has performed with many orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Belgium. He gives recitals throughout Europe and beyond. He is also active as a chamber musician. With his Van Baerle Trio he won prizes at competitions in Lyon and Munich. The solo CDs he released so far have been received with enthusiasm. With Jan Willem de Vriend and the Orkest van het Oosten, Hannes recorded all five Beethoven piano concertos in recent seasons. These CDs were very well received by both the national and international press. This season, Hannes made his debut in the Meesterpianisten series at Het Concertgebouw.
