Alphonse Cemin is a French pianist who studied in Paris with Jean Koerner, Jean-Fréderic Neuburger and Pierre-Laurent Aimard. He was part of the Paris Opera Atelier Lyrique in 2011. He is committed to chamber music and song recitals and works in main opera houses as musical director and assistant of conductors such as Kent Nagano, Esa-Pekka Salonen, George Benjamin, and Marc Minkowski.
He made his conducting debut with Levina’s opera La Métamorphose in festival Musica, Strasbourg, he also conducted the premiere of Tomas Bordalejo’s opera Bureau 470. He co-founded and leads the musical ensemble Le Balcon and is also the artistic director of the Parisian concert season Les Lundis Musicaux de l’Athénée.

He recorded numerous CDs and plays often in duet with singers such as Julie Fuchs, Marianne Crebassa, Stanislas de Barbeyrac and Kate Lindsey. He was named HSBC Laureate of the Festival d’Aix’s Academy in 2010 and won the interpretation prize of the Stockhausen Courses Kürten in 2013.
