Can I join the festival as a 'Dikke Vriend'
Around the festival a group of enthusiastic fans is active under the name 'Dikke Vrienden'. By means of a fiscally favorable donation they help the festival to maintain the high level and to present new special programs every year.
A few years ago the initiative was taken to ask private individuals to financially support the festival so that we can continue to program this festival at the level that you are used to from us. This has led to the formation of a group of 'Fat Friends'.
Most of them agree with the Foundation Initiative for Chamber Music (IVK) an agreement with a term of 5 years. IVK is a support foundation for DCMF and broadens the financial basis of the festival. Apart from the proceeds from ticket sales, the festival is dependent on subsidy, fund contributions and sponsorship. The money from IVK is used to make parts of the program possible where necessary. The extent to which this happens varies from year to year and depends on the financial results of DCMF. We want to use the contribution of these friends as much as possible for the festival and not spend on meetings for the friends. But still, Fat Friends get a personal, interesting and inspiring explanation from Nino Gvetadze in the spring during a meeting and they can book early. We also organize a separate meeting for the Fat Friends during the festival. Fat Friends, by the way, buy their tickets just like other visitors.
The IVK Foundation has the status of a 'cultural ANBI', and specific rules on tax deductibility apply. With the conclusion of such an agreement, it is achieved that, on the basis of the current tax rules, the contribution of € 500 per year for the income tax return may be increased by 25%. This means that this donation can be deducted for € 625, - without the application of a threshold and the result of this rule is that a donation of € 500, - gross, net costs € 175, - based on the tax band of 52%. There is a maximum attached to the deductibility of donations without a threshold, ie € 5.000, -. If one does not opt for a 5-year contract, the gift may also be increased by 25%, but then the threshold system (donations above 1% of the threshold income) will apply.
